True Blood Question

Im getting mad at the show cuz eric kinda looks like the bad guy but in the books he's not!what do you think??

Im a total eric fan and in the book eric stabs long shadow and saves sookie
bill leaves sookie for his maker but so far in the show thats not the case

eric stabbed long shadow because h was stealing from him, i doubt it was to save Sookie. If he did it to save her it was only so he could keep using her mind reading abilities. Bill has no choice to leave her for his maker. These vamp's have to obey their makers as Eric says in book nine it's a complusion and impossible to fight. As far as the show it looks like Eric will do anything Godrick asks.

I personally would never want to have a relationship with a vamp (eric) that had a m/m sexual relations with his maker. Eric admitts to this in book nine. I could never get past that. Don't forget Bill was kidnapped and tortured by Lorena and never gave Sookie up to her.

I agree 100%!!! I have been thinking the very same thing I am so sick of Bill and I don't know how they are going to make them break up now in the show because if they do it isnt going to match the books at all! I am ready to see some hot viking and Sookie love haha!

The show is different from the books, but, if you remember, Eric was kind of a jerk in the first few books. He had his moments, but, all in all, he was kind of the bad guy. He really turned around in the third book when he helped Sookie find Bill. The series is still focusing on the second book this season. Hopefully in season 3, she will leave Bill like she did in the book and I would love to see a fourth season with Eric as an amnesiac totally in love with Sookie. That would be great!

See I don't get bad guy from Eric. I get that from Bill, but then again I know where it is headed. Eric is a vampire, and that is all. He doesn't pretend to be something he isn't. I must say I almost cried at the end of the fourth book when he goes back to being himself and doesn't remember what happened with Sook. But I think that Eric is very true to his nature, while Bill pretends to be something he isn't.

I think what they are doing is making him the "red herring" badguy of the show. People who have not read the books don't know where Bill's character is headed, and I think they are building both characters faux persona's up for the 180 plot twist that lies in book/season 3.

Right on! I love what they've done with the show so far along with the books except for this ONE THING! Even as selfish as Eric is, he wasn't manipulative and this deviates too far from his personality. Very pissed now that Sookie and Eric are already tainted. Their relationship in the books is HOT HOT HOT.

They have never completely changed any integral storylines from the books, they just change around the paths the characters take to get there. Alan Ball already admitted at Comic Con that the 3rd season will follow the books take on the Eric/Sookie/Bill triangle.

First of all Eric is kinda the bad guy in the beginning few books, but I agree with you they're getting to the part where Sookie should start liking Eric better but it doesn't seem like she is
