I do think they fight for which they believe to be true, but I don't think that they are "freedom fighters". But I am an outsider looking in on this. An insider's point of view may be very different.

V definitely is a terrorist, but he's also a freedom fighter, depending whose side you're on. That's true in real life, too.

Terrorists today fight for what they believe in, and so did V. So yes, they are freedom fighters just like him, only there are less distateful ways to fight for freedom than to run airplanes into buildings.
