Many websites for posting your writing are genre specific, such as fanfiction, fantasy, whatever. There are also even more specific sites, such as writing about specific actors or shows (again, fanfiction obviously). An example of this would be link which is specifically Harry Potter related fanart and writing. You said you write fanfiction, if you clarify what shows/'worlds' that you like to write in, people may be able to give you some sites for those.

Fanfiction.net is obviously the biggest fanfic site, but here are some others:

link - This site also has a place for original writing.

link is a fantasy and sci-fi art and writing site. They don't allow fanfiction, but their Wyvern's Library section is for fantasy/sci-fi writing (though they are quite strict about what you are allowed to post- everything is moderated). There are a couple of published authors on Elfwood, such as Garon Whited.
