Do you based your characters off people that are in your family?

I get an idea of what sort of Character I want then take aspects of lots of people I know.

Usually I don't. I base my characters off of feelings. Like, for example, just out of the word happiness. I could describe a energetic, little girl. With blonde pig-tails and bangs. She has a high temper but can make anyone feel happy. She constantly has a smile on her face and laughs at everything.
I also get inspired by different animals I see. Like the little girl I described, I could've based her off a monkey. :P

No. More off of friends or people I know whose personalities pop out at me.

No i don't I think doing that would take away from a fantasy aspect if the characters are to real(Like some one from home)

I don't base them fully on family and people I know but I take some aspects of their personalities and their traits and put them into my characters.

I watch way to many movies XD so my characters are always based on a mix of movie characters

No. I usually get my inspiration for my characters from my surroundings and my emotions. My family just doesn't strick me as good story character types.
