Writing Question

Ideas for an outcast?

I have a story in my head. I have a lot of the initial details already worked out. The only thing I'm missing is who, or what, I'm going to use.

The story starts out with a couple finding A baby. This baby needs to be blatantly different physically. It will function, grow up, and live like any normal person.

I've never written anything in the paranormal/fantasy genre, nor have I ever been into it, but that seems to be the direction this is heading.

Any ideas on what could make this baby different? I don't want it to be anything too obvious like a racial or ethnicity thing.

Any answers are appreciated.
Thank you.

I considered making it some sort of alien, but i decided against it.. I would prefer human, but it's okay if it's not.

well, i would say someone who is very quiet, and doesnt really do anything wrong, usally the new kid, or someone who has never felt like they belong. sometimes these charaters were something like a hoddie or jacket that hides their face. they do have some friends, but has never felt like he or she was normal, aslo it should have something like a birthmark or eye color or somethig nlike that that makes them stand out

I like the idea of cool/strange birthmarks too!I've looked up some stuff about birthmarks and what they could mean and there are some cool ones. Like there is the Silvermark, a silver streak of hair which is commonly found at front hairline. It is passed down in the family that can go back centuries, and it has been called the 'witch's streak' ;) Another one called a Heart birthmark. Some people believe that it has connections to ones past life. That's all I could find on that but I'll keep searching for more ideas. Hope this helped!
