Writing Question

Can have help with a name? Preferebly something that starts with L?

Names that I don't care for: Lauren, Laura, Lori, Lexie (because that is my name) Lois, Lucile.

About the character: 14 year old tomboy. She wants to be a writer but her parents want her to become and actress.

Features: Aqua eyes, long dirty blonde hair that is usually worn down, wears a baseball cap all of the time, clear skin, never wears make up.

Family in book: Father (only shown a little bit), Brother, Mother (dies in prolouge), and grandmother.

My favorite answer gets a prop!

Lanza means Lancer
Larue or Layne means Dweller by the road
Langley means From the Long Meadow
Laurence means laurel
Laverick means wildly independant
Len for a nickname because it's more boy-ish than Helena
Leal means faithful
Le means joy
Limon means lemon
Lexis means defender of the people
Lex could be her nickname becuase it's more boy-ish than Alexis. Above name Lexis is also a good nickname if you make her full name Alexis.
Lenny means brave as a lion
OTHER NAMES FROM MY COMMENT WHICH IS NOW DELETED:
Loki mean trickster god
Lonnie means noble, ready
Loren/Lorin has the same meaning Laurence
Lundy means grove
Lux and Luz mean light
Ly means reason
Lynde means gentle
Lyric means words of a song.

All of the above are uni-sex names. :) hope i helped, even just a little

You know what? Not bad. I was looking for a girl name, but now that i think of it, my character having a male name could have an interesting story behind it.

Ah, you don't like the name Lori??? That's my parent-given name.

Anyway, I think the name Lana or Laine, then you could have her nicknamed Laney. Just a thought. :)

Hmm, it depends what you want to go for. I really like naming a character with a meaning behind the name.

The name Lakia means born on a Thursday. I think that's cool. Umm, if she's independent go with the name Laverick. Leola means lioness so you could go with that if she's a bit feisty. I've always loved the name Lulu, and it means female warrior.

Go with whatever you feel and what suits the character.

Being a 13 year old tomboy myself, I think maybe you should give this girl a double barrelled name. My name is Sarah-jo, and for short people call me S-J, and I quite like it because it's a tomboyish name. I also think taht you shouldn't make her only hang out with boys. I hang out with boys most of the time, but I do have my friends that are girls.

If it were me I'd go with Loren, yes it's a boys name from a series, but if she was a tomboy, I think she'd be happy with her name. It's very cute, and never been used for a girl, or I don't believe it has. Have fun writing your story, may it blossom beautifully.
