Chapter one: unexpected things
“This is so much fun!” Alia screamed with excitement. Alia was flying over the greenest forest she ever seen! It was bigger than her families’ garden. (Alia’s family had a gigantic garden, and a lot of money to purchase plants) She wisped through the green trees feeling the refreshing air flow through her long brown wavy hair, making it a humongous mess. She saw something, a shadowy figure. “What’s that, who are you” Alia yelled. The small shadowy thing came closer. It didn’t reply. “Hello?” she yelled again.
Alia noticed it was just a boy flowing through the sky, like she was. Without even noticing, he bumped into her and they both fell through the trees and hit the forest floor. Alia tore part of her bright blue dress on a tree branch. “Ow” Alia and the boy said at the same time. “Sorry didn’t see you there, I’m Daniel” he said as he stood up and pulled Alia up as well. “It’s all good” She said as she looked at her torn dress.
They began walking toward an oversized tree. “Lia, Lia” a colorful parrot said in the background. It was standing by the tree. It sounded like her mother “Alia Alia, wake up” the parrot said again. Allia opened up her eyes drowsily. “Sorry to wake you honey, but I really wanted to introduce your new piano teacher” Alia’s mother said. “What happened to Ms. Harley” She asked with her eyes shut. “She quit and I don’t know why” her mother replied. Alia finally opened her eyes. She looked at her new piano teacher. He looked familiar and looked about her age. He’s brown smooth hair even looked familiar. “Daniel!?” She blurted out. “How do you know my name I didn’t even introduce myself yet?” Daniel asked with an akward look on his face. “Um… lucky guess” she said.
Alia blushed and then heard the loud door bell ring and she ran downstairs. Daniel followed her. Alia opened their brown over sized door and her best friend Kylie rushed in. “Hi alia!” she said happily. “Hi Kylie, why are you so excited” asked Alia “Sorry to interrupt but, who is this?” asked Daniel as he looked at kylie. “Who’s that?” Kylie shouted. “Ok Daniel meet Kylie my best friend, Kylie meet Daniel my new piano teacher” Alia said. “Oh piano teacher, wait are you a little young to be a piano teacher?” asked Kylie. “No I’m just a talented music player” Daniel answered. Then the doorway went quiet. Then Alia gestured them both to follow her to her room that was on the 3rd floor of their gigantic 5 story house. “Ugh why couldn’t we take the elevator?” asked Kylie when they finally got to her room. “I don’t know, Sorry Kylie” Alia said taking deep breathes.
Just then Alia’s dog came rushing in chasing Kylie’s and Daniel’s dogs’. “Whose dog is that” asked Alia as she pointed to the brown and black puppy. “Um… that’s mine” Daniel confessed. “You have a dog?” Kylie shouted “Yep” Daniel said. “Cool, that kind of yellow-ish colored puppy is mine, her name is Rosy” Alia said grabbing her. “That’s my dog the light brown and dark brown puppy” Kylie added as she picked her up. Daniel picked his dog up too and the three of them walked into Alia’s huge bedroom. The walls were purple with blue polka-dots and she had a pink colored bed and her dog had her own little bed too.
“So…” Daniel said breaking the silence. “So.. what?” Alia asked. “I’m sorry but I am a little confused about you being a piano teacher thing” Kylie said as she pointed at Daniel. “Actually I don’t know either, I knew I was a good piano player, but this place drew me in when I figured out you needed a piano teacher” Daniel replied. “hmm…” Kylie said loudly. “Well how did you and kylie meet?” Daniel asked Alia. “Oh we met at one of Alia’s performances and…” Kylie said. Daniel rudely interrupted. “Wait hold on… performances?” He asked. “Oh, Alia has a great singing voice, and her parents love when she sings” Kylie said “and my parents kind of make me perform but I do love to sing.”Alia added
“Alia honey, time for breakfast!” Mrs. Penrose, Alia’s mother said as she slightly opened her door. “Ok mom” Alia said. She turned toward her new friends. “Let’s go”. “Fine, but can we take the elevator this time?” asked Kylie. “Sure” Alia said. They headed toward the elevator. “Where you going” said a random voice out of no were. The three friends turned around it was Alia’s older sister Amelia, but they called her Amy for short. She was tall. She had long blond hair like their mom’s.
“We’re going to breakfast” Alia answered. “Me too” Amy said as she rushed toward the elevator. She went in and the doors closed before they could get in. “Well I guess we have to wait, because the other elevators are broken” Kylie said as she put her hands on her skinny hips.
The big, silvery elevator finally came up. The three people jumped in and their dogs followed them. “Ok the kitchen is on the second floor” Alia told Daniel. Daniel went toward the big brown buttons. “Ok” Daniel said “Wait, what’s this button?” he asked as his figure went toward it. “No don’t push it!” Alia and Kylie said in unison. But it was too late. Daniel pressed the button and the elevator went downward. Kylie and Alia glared at Daniel. The elevator was still moving down rapidly. “Sorry” Daniel said. The elevator finally came to a halt.

It’s the color of you
You always wore it
It’s the color we shared
As we hid form them
With it we showed our true selves,
Though no one cared
Our orange book bags
Saved us from some pain
We protected each other
But it wasn’t enough
We were like two orange crayons
When everyone else was green
Then you left me alone,
All I had was our color orange
As they hit me
I took peace in knowing
You were in the orange field in the sky
You always said was there.
The orange of the sun set
Is your smile
Even though you left too soon
Orange…
Now it’s my color
My way of remembering you
Now I am the lone orange in the rainbow
Without you here
I protect my own
Though I wish you were here
Now orange is my color
A color for you bravery
A color for my survival
Orange will forever be our color
Even though death took you away
Forever orange for you,
Sweet Cassidy.

Your heart is sore, crippled up like paper.
Your voice is weak, barely passing by you.
Your body is tired, let it lay for tonight.
You are but you- a stranger to much.
No one cares to know you.
They do not wish to after all.
And all those times you told everything-
It was a lie, I love you became a lie. A horrible lie not one can ever take back to you. How could they, breaking your very soul to the apple's wrinkled core? It shook and broke, just like that. Lonesome and ever so exhausted of even thinking it would be different this time around.
You're so hopeless. You probably cannot move away from the pain, the desecration left in the path at the end. Then again, in the end it probably doesn't even matter, does it?
Once a joy, now a misery forever scared, alone.
