Evy sat on the couch, watching some random program. Becca sat next to her, but Becca was playing cards rather than watch T.V. With a sigh, Evy turned it off, turning to her friend. Becca ignored her, continuing with her game. A mischievous glint lit in Evy's eyes and she sighed loudly. When she was ignored again, she sighed, leaning on Becca's shoulder. With another sigh, she placed her head on Becca's lap. Becca pursed her lips, trying not to give in to her laughter. Looking down at her friend, Becca released her laughter.
“What is wrong with you?” she asked.
“I'm bored!”
“How can you be bored?”
“No one else is here. They all went out!”
“So?”
“So I'm bored! I need to do something!”
Becca rolled her eyes, but giggled as she thought.
“Would you like to train?”
“No! Canary's training killed me!”
Becca laughed, still thinking.
“We could make something for dinner.”
“Pfft! No way! Let them fend for themselves!”
“Okay. How bout the beach?”
“No you're talking! Let's go!”
Becca smiled as Evy pulled her to her room so she could change. She was only given three minutes to be ready before Evy continuously knocked on her door and shouted for her to hurry. Becca opened her door two seconds later.
“Stop! I'm done!” Becca exclaimed on a laugh.
Evy examined her friend and the bag she carried.
“What's in the bag?”
“My phone, towel, sun screen, sunglasses, book, extra change of clothes, and I'm going to add water bottles to it now.”
Evy blinked.
“Why are you so prepared? Didn't have room for your knife though?”
Becca simply smiled as she moved to the kitchen. Evy followed her.
“You're bringing your knives to the beach?!”
“Of course not, Ev. I stashed my escrim sticks in case but nothing sharp.”
Evy narrowed her eyes, looking Becca over. Becca sighed and, handing her a hand held metal detector, allowed Evy to check for sharp and metal objects.
“You're good.”
“Told you, Ev. Nothing sharp. You ready?”
“Yeah. I got everything I need.”
Becca looked incredulous at Evy's “supplies”.
“Seriously? All you're bringing is a bottle of sun tan lotion and a towel.”
“Not all of us need security toys, Bec. Let's go.”
Becca gave her a look but followed her friend anyway. This was going to be an interesting day.
