“What do we do now?”
“We have to find the owner of the Dark Magic and force them to take it back.”
“How?”
“Tracing it. But I can't! The exoskeleton protects from ALL forms of magic!”
“Then we better find Cheshire. Megan, stay with them. Make sure Becca stays dormant until we come back. Are the others okay?”
“Yes Artemis. They have been stable the whole time.”
“Good. Just keep an update on Becca. Willow, let's go.”
The two girls slunk against the exterior of the house.
“Be quiet,” Artemis whispered.
Willow nodded and followed the archer. They had to be careful not to wake the assassin up. If they were ever going to know anything, they HAD to have the upper hand. Artemis typed in the codes Adam had taught them. Denied.
“Damn!”
“Here, let me try.”
Willow's eyes glowed misty blue and the commands changed. They were in.
“Why were we denied before?” Artemis asked as she opened the door.
“The codes were changed after we broke in.”
Artemis nodded and the two crept along as quietly as possible. They made it into the living room, heaving a sigh of relief. Artemis entered the bedroom, Willow behind her. With an arrow aimed at her throat, Artemis kicked Cheshire awake.
“What?! How'd you-”
“Don't. Move!”
Cheshire froze at the weapon pointed at her throat. Willow used magic, bringing all the weapons Cheshire owned to Willow. Artemis narrowed her eyes, looking at Cheshire with hatred.
“You work for the League of Shadows. Who have they been using?”
Cheshire raised her chin in defiance. Willow brought a sia to her neck, unafraid to kill her.
“Who have they been using?!” Artemis repeated.
“I don't know her name! But she is able to control the forces of Dark Magic. She is agile, quick, and extremely intelligent. They call her Masq, but that is not her real name.”
“Where are they located?”
“Right now? Somewhere in the buisness district. Lex Luthor's more than likely.”
“Thanks. Now Sleep.”
Artemis released her arrow. It connected to Cheshire's skin, a needle injecting sleeping gas inside of the assassin. When Cheshire fell on her bed, Willow released the weapons. She turned to Artemis, who was already headed for the door.
“We should split up,” Artemis directed.
“Huh?”
“I'll check some of the other businesses. You check LexCorp. We'll meet in two hours. By the old mill. Mark everything you see. And watch for an antidote. They might have one.”
“But Artemis-”
“Do it! Becca only has five hours! You said so! Do you want her to die? And what about the others? They only have days! If we don't find the antidote, we'll be the only three left!”
Artemis tensed, feeling a sudden wave of guilt and regret. She didn't turn around but stopped walking.
“I'm sorry Willow. I just...don't want anyone to die. Especially Becca. I keep everyone at arms length but she's reached out more than anyone has. I don't want her to go without telling her how much I love her, how good of a friend she's been. If I can't save her, I'd want her to know that.”
“I understand. Same goes for me. But more Wally then Becca. She always knows. We're linked at the heart, her and I. But if we couldn't find a cure, I'd want Wally to know that I love him. That if he was awake, I'd tell him everything. I want him to know.”
Artemis smiled a little, walking towards the door again.
“Let's go.”

This was her chance. Sydney jumped up and swung her arms under her legs so that her hands were in front of her. Quickly she swung around, hitting the guard behind her and knocking him out. Ty noticed, and lunged at her. She quickly dodged, grabbing the key for her handcuffs off the guard with the few seconds that she had earned. Before she could unlock them though, Ty was able to get back up and start kicking at her. Sydney dodged almost all, except one that sharply entered her stomach. Stumbling over, Sydney dropped the key, “Crap.” She calmly mumbled. Ty threw a punch at her; she ducked and rolled under him. She grabbed the key and quickly unlocked her cuffs. Sydney sent a punch toward Ty, who smartly dogged it and sent on back in return.
