Emma Watson collaborates with fashion house Alberta Ferretti

"Harry Potter's" Emma Watson is taking a high-heeled step into the world of high fashion as a collaborator for the Italian fashion house Alberta Ferretti.

The former face of Burberry and new face of Lancome honed her design skills at People Tree, a fair-trade British brand, and will soon launch a five-item eco-friendly line for Ferretti called Pure Threads by Emma Watson.

"I'm pleased that a luxury brand such as Alberta Ferretti has decided to create ecological clothes," the 20-year-old Brit told Women's Wear Daily. "I believe this is...

Actress Emma Watson does not understand why people are treating the end of the Harry Potter series as a bad omen as she is eagerly waiting for new opportunities.

The 20-year-old actress, who starred as wizard kid Hermione Granger in the franchise for more than ten years said that she was sad but at the same time felt a huge sense of relief as she can't wait to see what future holds for her, Contactmusic reported.

"People keep saying to me, 'So this is the end, how do you feel about it being the end?' And I'm like, 'It really doesn't feel that to me.' It feels like the beginning. It's actually...

From Emma:

I had the most amazing day in Malawi today.

Thank you President Mutharika for being a #HeForShe Impact Champion and for making gender equality a priority in your Government! Thank you to all the traditional leaders who are implementing President Mutharika's policies - especially Chief Kachindamoto (she’s in the photo with me, she’s formidable and has been nicknamed “The Terminator”!). She gave me such a warm welcome today. She has implemented the annulment of so many child marriages and restored the futures of these girls. With the help and collaboration of her local...

Daniel Brühl:

"It's fascinating, in a really terrible way, but there are just so many angles to explore. We all need to digest it every day on set. Me and Emma are staying in the same hotel so we have dinner together and talk it through. She has it a lot harder than I do though..."

Dear Our Shared Shelf,

Our next book will be Persepolis, a graphic novel that serves as the memoir of the author, Marjane Satrapi. It's about a bold and brave young woman and her experiences in 1980s Iran.

Persepolis was first published in French in 2003 and like Art Spiegelman's Maus (which was about the Holocaust and was the first graphic novel to win the Pulitzer Prize) is now widely considered a classic of the graphic novel form.

Satrapi grew up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution and its aftermath; Persepolis is the story of her childhood. Through Marji's youthful (though not-always-innocent)...

Emma's preface:

'I will preface this by saying - anything that makes navigating being a teenage girl even slightly easier is a godsend. This book is not for the faint-hearted (think lots of swearing, pictures of vaginas and "patriarchy busting"), but frankly I think that might be what we need - a book that unapologetically addresses what teenage girls are really dealing with. Don't understand what your teenage daughter is going through or, even if you do, how to help her tackle it? This is the book for you and for her. So necessary. SO timely. Thorough. Straightforward. Well researched....

Throughout her 15-year acting career, Emma Watson has probably been interviewed thousands of times. But on Wednesday, the Ivy League–educated actress and U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador had the opportunity to actually ask the questions, and not just to another Hollywood player, but to Malala Yousafzai, the 18-year-old Pakistani activist for female education who, last year, became the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate. Although the two have completely different backgrounds, Watson and Yousafzai proved to be the perfect conversational match, as both are young, eloquent activists who have delivered...

Looks like Harry will always have Hermione's back.

Long after the beloved Harry Potter series ended, Daniel Radcliffe is speaking out in support of costar Emma Watson, and her HeforShe campaign to promote gender equality.

"I think it's fantastic that she's bringing attention to it and adding to the conversation," he tells Nylon for its November issue.

Watson's campaign asks men to throw their support behind gender equality, with the idea that equal rights for women cannot become a reality without advocates from both genders.

To Radcliffe, that's a no-brainer – because the 26-year-old says...

Emma , Emma , Emma ....she is just perfect . Almost everyone who has seen her knows the she is beauty with brains . Her acting , her looks , her everything ROCKS . Also she is a GREAT ROLE MODEL . She has taught us lots of things such as :

Education Is Important (Even If You're Already Rich)

After Emma Watson completed the final Harry Potter film, she didn't have to work again for the rest of her life. She was richer by the age of 13 than most of us can ever even dream of being in our entire lives. However, Emma decided to attend Brown University instead of, you know, taking showers in her...

Rupert Grint does not count himself among the massive number of males who probably want to smooch Emma Watson.

"It was actually okay," Grint, 22, said of his onscreen kiss with Watson in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which opened in theaters Friday. "It was just the anticipation. Neither of us were looking forward to it."

Grint does, however, acknowledge that may seem a bit unbelievable to most fans.

"It sounds crazy, Emma's amazing," he says. "I've seen her grow up and known her since she was nine. It just doesn't feel right."

3rd book for Our Shared Shelf is bell hooks' 'All About Love: New Visions'.

This month's book choice is in honor of bell hooks who interviewed me for Paper magazine this month. I didn't know what to expect when I started this Book Club. To have 100k members in less than a month is amazing and for this I am so grateful but even more amazing is the level at which I see these topics being engaged with and discussed and how generous people are being with their responses and insights into the material. This is what is meaningful to me. Then more recently to look on Instagram and literally see people from all over the world coming together to discuss these issues in groups, over Skype, in person, mothers and daughters, friends, selfies, pictures of cats and dogs...

Emma's interview:

After Nicole Kidman and Rachel Weisz, Emma Watson is the new "Amenábar girl". The actress, born by chance in Paris on April 15, 1990, but British from head to toe, is the key element of Regression. Even though everyone knows her as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter saga, the truth is that Emma has left that character behind her some time ago. Now she’s one of the most sought after young actresses and, has managed to make that complicated leap for so many, which is moving from child star to just a star.

In that way she’s like Natalie Portman and what Julia Roberts said...

Emma: I had Claire printing out, like, LA slang sheets for me, and then try to translate, because I didn't know like "I'm down" or "that's so chill".

Taissa: We met a week before shooting and we had some scheduled bonding time to get to know each other.
Israel: Emma, during that week, you lost your wallet, didn't you?
Emma: So much drama shooting this movie. Yeah, we went shopping and someone stole my wallet, so that was fun. Maybe that's karma for my fake self.

Josh: Who would be the leader...

In an interview with Red Carpet News, Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon talked about filming and the casting of Emma Watson.

“It’s exciting, we’re into our first month of shooting. It’s just been every day, to be on these huge sets that represent the Beasts castle, to see these musical numbers, we’re all pinching ourselves. It’s just been a very exciting, very kind of realistic telling of that story.” He said about Emma, “Oh my God, I think she’s going to blow everybody away. We’ve already done two of her musical numbers. She’s a beautiful singer, a wonderful dancer. She’s become one for this movie, she’s just one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met, and she’s really doing a beautiful job so far.”

link listed Hollywood's 50 Favorite Female Characters.

For THR's latest intra-industry poll, the editors asked Hollywood professionals — actors, writers, directors and others — to take an online survey of their favorite fictional female characters. More than 1,800 participated — twice as many women as men — but the results proved there isn't such a great divide between the sexes after all, at least when it comes to what types of females we enjoy watching on screens. By comfortable majorities, both genders picked a certain Hogwarts know-it-all as their No. 1.
