Jay, I think it might be a good idea if you checked into this list of names and how the votes have been made. I strongly believe something's afoot here. I have myself taken the time to check out some names, along with their profiles including their fans, dates accounts were opened,etc and there is something most definitely awry.
I don't have 100% proof because if i did i would actually be writing this in a forum and having absolutely no hesitation in naming the user that I believe is trying to make monkeys out of fanpop and it's legit users.
So I'll just advise that someone looks into what some cunning little smart-arse is trying to do - and not let 'user' get away with it.

The short answer is Yes. The long answer is Yes, but in 2007 fans were not allowed to vote for themselves. Though this rule is not enforced in the current Fan Of The Fortnight, the hope was that it's drilled in to fans enough not to do it, that it ceases anyways.

What's not important,looopey3? You don't think that if someone has several fake accounts it should be exposed? Well, I do! I made my comments here because I was certain that there was a user with several accounts that was making an even bigger mockery out of the system by voting for their own selves in this category. I didn't mention any names and as far as I can see neither did amazondebs.
Yet you're the one that is basically admitting "guilty" by your own comments. I don't think it takes a genius to figure out that something is out of whack when looking that some of the names on this list and how votes have been placed and even changed. I had no one idea who the user was but it was quite obvious once I looked into each profile. Within hours of me actually commenting on this two of the accounts were deleted. The only thing I don't understand is why the F4 haven't intervened and removed this names (now closed faked accounts) of this list.
And as ay3 stated propping and fanning your own self. That's just a bit too pathetic. Not to mention (as a wise user mentioned in the chat room recently)that users with multiple accounts have the added 'bonus' of cheating on quizzes, images, etc.
If there's one thing I can't stand is people intentionally doing the wrong thing and when caught out, crying victim. Grow up and be accountable for your actions!

I guess a few fanpoppers just have the "if you can't beat them, then join them" attitude. Must say i'm quite surprised by kathiria82's comments though. Kat you say that it's a website and quite frankly you don't really give a shit what people do on here. Well, judging by comments you've made in the past and only very recently (esp. in regads to medals) you very much do seem to give a shit what people do on here and you don't seem to have a problem expressing it loud and clear - something I have actually admired I might add.
Anyway, i made the first comments in regards to this issue (which by the way has absolutely nothing to do with fotf - my concern was that there was a user with multiple accounts) and i;m not going to say anything else after this. It's a waste of time and energy. There's only a handful of people that seem to realize that something's wrong here and to those folk I applaud you. Of course there`s something wrong here and there`s obviously cheating going on but what is us complaining all the time going to do?
