Hot 100 Chart Moves: Lady Gaga's 'The Cure' Launches as Her 20th Top 40 Hit
Lady Gaga performs on the Coachella Stage during day 2 of the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival (Weekend 1) at the Empire Polo Club on April 15, 2017 in Indio, Calif.
Plus, "It Ain\'t Me" & "Say You Won\'t Let Go" hit Radio Songs top 10.
As previously reported, Kendrick Lamar's "Humble." rises from No. 3 to No. 1 to crown the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 6), becoming his second Hot 100 No. 1 and first as a lead artist. The track unseats Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" after 12 weeks at the summit.
Meanwhile, three songs enter the Hot 100's top 10, led by Lamar's "DNA.," the chart's top debut at No. 4, from his new album
, which arrives at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart (while all 14 of the set's songs hit the Hot 100). Plus, Zedd and Alessia Cara's "Stay" jumps from No. 14 to No. 7 and takes over as the top-selling song of the week, and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee blast 48-9 with "Despacito," following the release of its remix with newly added featured artist Justin Bieber.
Who else makes notable Hot 100 chart moves this week?
The song, which Lady Gaga premiered in her Coachella set April 16, enters the Hot 100 at No. 39. It charges in at No. 3 on the Digital Song Sales chart with 79,000 downloads sold in the week ending April 20, according to Nielsen Music.
The stand-alone single arrives as Gaga's 20th top 40 hit on the Hot 100. She last reached the region with
single "Million Reasons," which re-entered at its No. 4 peak on the Feb. 25-dated chart, following her performance of the ballad at Super Bowl LI (Feb. 5).
On Digital Song Sales, Gaga earns her 17th top five hit, the chart's fourth-best total. Taylor Swift leads with 28, followed by Rihanna (24) and Drake (21).
"The Cure" also bows at No. 39 on the Pop Songs airplay chart.
At No. 13 on the Hot 100, down from its No. 11 high a week before (although up 5 percent in overall action), "It Ain't Me" soars 11-4 on Radio Songs. The song surges by 18 percent to 77 million in all-format airplay audience.
While the collab marks Kygo's first Radio Songs entry, Gomez achieves her sixth top 10; it's her third top five, following "Good for You," featuring A$AP Rocky (No. 4, 2015), and "Same Old Love" (No. 3, 2016).
The ballad backtracks to No. 17 from its No. 16 Hot 100 highpoint, but it, like "It Ain't Me," gains in overall metrics (up 9 percent) and enters the Radio Songs top 10. Arthur's breakthrough hit jumps 13-6 on the latter list, gaining by 14 percent to 75 million in audience.
Notably, "Say" is the No. 10-best-selling digital song of 2017 in the U.S.,
through April 20 with 571,000 downloads. It has sold 701,000 to date.
