Imagining A World Where Niall Horan’s Hair Isn’t Blond

There are a number of things that set Niall Horan apart from his bandmates—he’s Irish, he doesn’t have any tattoos, he plays the guitar, and, of course, he’s the only blond one. According to One Direction’s new interview in

Magazine, though, Niall has considered changing up his hair during the band’s hiatus.

He says, “I did think about [dyeing] my hair brown so I won’t get [recognized], but I genuinely believe that if I’m on my own with my mates from home, no one will give me a second look.” While this change may be shocking to a lot of Directioners, it, actually, isn’t the first time Niall has dabbled with dark hair.

In fact, when 1D was first getting their start, Niall only had the top of his hair dyed blond—the rest was his natural brown shade. While we’ve come to love him as a blond, we totally get that in order to lay as low as possible during the break, he may have to make the change.
