At the beginning, Stefan wants to leave Elena because of everything he put her through. Then he has a flashback (blue tinted) of when Elena helped him through his human blood addiction.
The whole point of this video, I think, is just to give an old timey feel to their relationship. The music, although annoying, has substance to me so that's why I chose it :)
