It is once again one in the morning and I am yet again bored. So I’ve decided to try and contribute some more non fanfiction articles to the X Men club. Also I should be starting my Original X Men Countdown article but when you feel like you have to do it, it’s less fun. I see a lot of people post their personal favorites lists on other clubs so I figured I’d give it a go. Here are my top five favorite X Men MOVIE characters.
5. Azazel.
There is literally no reason for me to like him. I just do. He just stood there and looked cool and that was all the reason I needed.
4. Wade Wilson.
No not Deadpool, not Weapon XI. Plain Wade Wilson from the beginning of the movie. Ryan Reynolds nailed it for the five minutes he was given. I could see Wade doing and saying all of it. He was funny, slightly annoying, and terrifyingly badass. The guy who would be your annoying little brother if he was on your side or the sadistic serial killer from everyone’s nightmares if he wasn’t. Of course when they made him into Weapon XI he literally gave me nightmares. In fact I was so scared of him that I Googled who he was, found the Cable and Deadpool series, and found my new love (Cable for those who don’t know). Thanks Ryan for destroying my social life!
3. Sabertooth.
I know I will get a lot of crap for this but I’ll be honest. Despite how horrible Wolverine Origins is considered, Sabertooth was awesome in it. I don’t care that it’s nothing like the comics I just loved him in this. And he gets double points for helping to kill Weapon XI. In the first X Men movie Sabertooth was really boring and seemed just a little bit mentally challenged. In Origins he was a guy who felt that his own brother had turned his back on him, which made him more interesting to me. I love that complicated family relationship nonsense (see Cable). If this is how he acted in the comics I would buy every issue he was ever in.
2. Wolverine.
Weirdly enough I don’t even really like him in the comics but I loved him in the movies and I owe that crazy fangirl obsession a lot (namely my love of X Men comics in general). Just like with Tony Stark I’m not sure what the comics did to make me dislike him or what the movies did to make me like him but it’s something. Hell the movies even made me want him and Jean together instead of Jean and Cyclops (sorry x -menobsessed26). Maybe it’s because they made the other characters seem so bland compared to him. All I know is that the movies defiantly did something right with him.
1. Magneto.
Now he’s always been one of my favorites from the movies and I loved seeing him kill Nazis in First Class. I think he’s a cool character because he’s not necessarily a bad guy or a good guy (this is a trend with me). He doesn’t think that he’s a bad guy he is just doing what he thinks is best for his people. He’s not in it for money or power (well sort of). He acts the way he does because he genuinely thinks that he’s helping mutants. Is it really helping? Well that I don’t know but that doesn’t change the fact that Magneto is a bad ass.
I doubt that this entertained you but I can still hope. If you disagree with my list that’s okay, but make sure to leave a comment telling me why they sucked. If you have your own top five list you are just itching to write please do, even if it isn’t top Movie Characters. And make sure that if you do post your own top five (or ten or whatever) tell me about it so I can go read it myself. Next week: Top Five Whiniest Villains (now with ten percent more daddy issues!)
