The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has renewed the zombie apocalypse drama for a fourth season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Season four will again consist of 13 episodes and will air in 2017.

TV Line reported on April 18 that due to a contract dispute the role of "Z Nation's" Murphy, the hybrid human/zombie character, may be recast. Apparently producers of the popular Syfy undead drama have issued a casting call.

On top of the mayhem, 'Zombie Road' introduces the Blasters, zombies mutated from the nuclear blast. These Z's are faster, more lethal, and unaffected by Murphy's telekinesis.

“I think for the sake of the Mack and Addy arc, it did make sense. Mack and Addy were stuck in a certain place,” he tells Zap2it. “They had gone through something where I don’t know that they would have ever been able to heal from that.”
