it's not broken, Damon's intention is to have it not really be in effect because he won't be around her, so she can't really be sired to him. If they interact, it will still be there. over a year ago

Don't worry and calm down, sweetie. JP said that this sire bond gives more hope than ever for Damon and Elena. She also said the sire bond is just a "tiny" obstacle in their relationship. And that is an exact word she used - tiny. She said they're just going to have to figure out how to work around this. Will that bring Dangst? Yes, but it will also mean that Elena's going to have to work her ass off to show Damon that she loves him, sire bond or not. Don't quite now! Hang in there! over a year ago

The sire bond creates loyalty not feelings. JP said that Elena already had feelings for Damon, it didn't make them. But it does make her have to do what he says. He didn't tell her to love him, to break up with Stefan, to kiss him back, and she was the instigator for sex. She still has her free will on her emotions. And once Damon is aware of the sire bond, you can bet he'll be more careful about what he tells her to do from now on because he doesn't want to force anything on her. He just wants her and her REAL love, which he has. over a year ago
