“Ah, good, Percy,” he said. “Now we have four for pinochle.”
“Uh what? What's pinochle?” Leo asked.
Annabeth sighed. She got out her laptop, which sent a major “Uh oh” down everyone's spine, opened to a four-hour Power Point Presentation, and was about to start talking when Leo said, “Never mind, I'll just stick to a five second explanation.” Leo looked at Percy.
“Oh right,” Percy said. “It's just card game similar to poker, okay?”
Leo nodded. Everyone sighed with relief, well, except for Annabeth, of course, who was steaming with rage.
Nico shuddered. “I am so glad I didn't have to listen to Annabeth go on for hours and hours and- OOOOFF!!!!”
That last part was because a certain child of Athena kicked the son of Hades in a particular painful spot, for boys.
All the guys winced and Thalia clapped mockingly.
Will glared at her.
Rachel raised an eyebrow and decided it was best to keep reading.
He offered me a chair to the right of Mr. D,
“This can't be good,” Thalia muttered.
“Why?” Jason, Leo, Piper, Hazel, Frank, and Reyna asked.
“Forget it.”
who looked at me with bloodshot eyes and heaved a great sigh. “Oh, I suppose I must say it. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood. Now, don't expect me to be glad to see you.”
Reyna turned to Percy. “Is he always like that?”

Everyone else looked equally surprised. Percy sighed and looked at Rachel. “Please continue.”

Travis leaned forward. “Hey Annie. Was it love at first sight?”
BOOM!!! WRACK!! BAM!!! CRACK!!! “OOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!”
Annabeth sat down leisurely.
Everyone stared at the, ah, not-so-pretty form of Travis on the ground. Only Clarisse seemed to be enjoying this, along with Annabeth.
Jake cleared his throat. “Will, would you like to babysit Travis for a while?”
“Fine.” Will heaved a big sigh and dragged Travis by the shirt into a room.
“I'll read,” Frank said. Rachel tossed him the book, which hit his face so hard he toppled out of his chair. Everyone laughed, except for Rachel who said, “Sorry.”
Frank got up and began to read.
Annabeth, my dear, why don't you check on Percy's bunk? We'll be putting him in cabin eleven for now.”
“For now?” Hazel and Reyna asked.
Frank looked equally confused.
Katie sighed. “You'll see.”
Annabeth said, “Sure, Chiron.” She was probably my age, maybe a couple inches taller, and a whole lot more athletic looking.
Everyone turned their attention to Percy and Annabeth, who were sitting together, and tried to compare them.
“Same age, check,” Leo said. “A couple inches taller, nope. Percy is now taller by a few inches. More athletic looking? Maybe.”
Percy and Annabeth sighed. “Keep reading,” Annabeth ordered.
Frank nodded.
