~Plot Stuff~
Hundreds and hundreds of years ago, there existed an otherworldly arcane essence that existed by the name of Magic/Magick. This essence was a variety of things. Lush and in great abundance, full of life and a energy that science had become a pale reflection of in the years that followed. However, it was also an essence that harbored a wicked face as well, bound to attract misfortune and death to all who were able to understand and or obtain it if not tamed properly. The secrets of this essence falling into the wrong hands would bring nothing but catastrophe.

And catastrophe it brought, those hundreds a years ago. One that thrust magic into an era in which it had began to fade and a new form of energy created at the hands of man became the new. The world in which magic had come from became a myth, magic itself became a myth as time progressed and left it to fade and never be seen again.

Or perhaps....what isn't seen isn't truly gone. And perhaps...the world thought to be myth is much more than just so. But what is certain is that what has lurked in the veils of shadows within the darkness, behind illusions of people, places and things. Forces that had managed to slip into the ages of the new world. Those of good. Those of evil and malice. Those of...magic. And perhaps...hope. But...will the newest of generations derived from those hundreds of years be able to face what comes?

And so we fly ahead in time to the present, where villages have become cities of tall structures, and dreams of flight have become a reality.

"Oh, is that so?" Galiah said with her ears perking up again at the comment. She felt a bit of relief, that perhaps her own words may have gotten to him in some way. She looked back to Yoon then to Edgar once more as she asked, "Well, perhaps Lady Yoon and I could accompany you. Maybe we'll find out something about the magic of you two while we are down there and hopefully... um... you know?"
She left the interpretation of his visions vague enough to not outright say it for Yoon's sake, but enough to where hopefully Edgar would understand.
11 months ago afewseconds said…
"Maybe..letting her get some time to rest after she just got back inside would be better," Edgar suggested. "I won't have any qualms with going down by myself right now. Besides. I'm sure they'd like to eat breakfast together while things aren't so hectic."
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
"Oh" Galiah spoke, her ears drooping down ever slightly as she would turn her attention back to Yoon. "Yes, perhaps. She has been doing quite a lot in the morning with her family. I can understand if you need the rest, Lady Yoon"
But at the mention of heading down alone, Galiah would step a little forward and ask, "S-surely you require some assistance getting down the stairs, do you not, Edgar? I know that you were fortunate the first time, but who's to say it won't be so fruitful this time around?"

Yoon blinked, feeling an odd tension between Galiah and Edgar. It wasn't of animosity, but it felt... strange. Peculiar with Edgar's silence and even his aura. Strange with Galiah's worries and reluctant demeanor. She served a bowl of soup and rice for her little brother, who thanked her quietly and sat on the table to eat to appease a growling stomach. Ironically she didn't even feel like eating since the soup to her would taste like drinking blended grass––salty, blended grass. Who even thinks to make soup after swimming?! She thought, even remembering how the times they'd gone to the beach in Florida, their mother had brought kimbap as their meal, refusing to spend $10 for a singular corndog and $8 for lemonade.

And so instead she internally groaned to herself and wanted to focus on something else to distract her tastebuds. She turned to listen to the last exchanges of words between the two. "....I-i'm not... really hungry..." Yoon quietly mentioned before adding along to Galiah's offer, "d-do you need help getting downstairs?" She also offered her help. "...a-all the other Keepers a-are gone, so... we should--I-I mean I should help you h-however I can.."

The first thing that was going to come out of Edgar's mouth was going to be a no to Galiah insisting on him requiring help to get down the stairs and brought up last time. And even now as he thought about it, he didn't think that he had just fallen. He could faintly remember feeling something like breath in the back of his neck. But before he could turn around, the dark had become darker until he had woken up and found that Raven had somewhat tried to tend to him.

And then Yoon spoke, which was something that he more or less hadn't expected. And it became irritable, yet it showed less the more it pressed. Reluctantly, knowing that he was either going to be followed regardless, or asked about it a million more times, or for some odd reason upset someone if he didn't tell them what they wanted to hear. He would never hear the end of it in one shape or another. He didn't feel like having any sort of back and forth. And so reluctantly, he agreed with a low sigh. "Yeah, sure. Why not?"

His index finger scratched at his temple. But as he went to leave with a little less caution than he had entered with to just hurry things along for himself, he ended up hitting his knee at the edge of the counter's side, which made him grimace for a second as he found his own way out of of a rough memory of the place that was only starting to get sharper as he paid more attention to where people were, and where certain sounds came from the most. Like for instance, where Yoon had stood at the entrance when she and her brother had come to the kitchen.

Galiah gave a nod, turning to Yoon with a smile that appeared to be grateful in a sense for her suggestion. She would then turn back to Edgar at the sound of his knee hitting the counter. She would hurry to his side, taking his hand into hers as she spoke, "Allow me to lead the way, Dea- um, Sir Edgar. I'm sure Lady Yoon will be right behind us"
She would hold onto Edgar's hand, her fingers interlocking with his as her thumb rubbed against it in a comforting manner, as if she was certain that something was off, that something with Edgar and his visions were starting to affect him, and Galiah was doing whatever she could to comfort him

As their hands were interlocked. Edgar had muttered something to himself after Galiah had said that Yoon would be coming along, and as they started on their way, he remained quiet as he let the elf lead the way. He began to count his footsteps in his mind as they were going towards the door that would lead all the down to the lower half of the manor.
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Galiah gave slowly take her steps one at a time, unlike her usual quick steps she would normally take to get around the manor. She would take each step one at a time, as to not outpace Edgar and make him trip. When she would finally reach the door to the basement, she would open it slowly, taking an extra look down at the many spiraling stairs that went down into it
11 months ago cosmic_fusions said…
Yoon was hesitant to follow the both of them, especially since her insecurities sensed she was not socially wanted. And so she told herself she would just drop them off to at least feel better and say that she helped someone today, already feeling guilty that she couldn’t help the other Keepers in Florida. She hadn’t been down in the basement for a while, a long while.
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar could feel the breeze that had been trapped down below creep passed them. And as Galiah was looking down the spiraling stairs after the door had been opened, he eventually moved her out of his way and went down first himself. These stairs were easier to navigate down due to the fact that their less sharp and more rounded curves were easier for him to follow, and he placed his hand against the wall to start his way down with little hesitation.
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Edgar!" Galiah would proclaim as she was moved to the side to make room for Edgar as he made his way down the stairs on his own. She would turn to Yoon with an expression of befuddlement as she would then turn and immediately follow behind to ensure he wouldn't trip
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar heard Galiah call after him, but he didn't really bother waiting or answering for that matter as his hand started following the curve of the wall and allowing him to steer clear of an unprecedented fall, though there were moments on his way down where he made a few missteps, but was able to get it back together after a nother two steps. His way down was an anxious one, but by the time they were nearing the bottom, he was walking almost as if he no longer needed the support of the wall.
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Galiah would try to stick close to Edgar in the case that he would trip and fall down the stairs, but found difficulty in the tight corridor of the staircase. But she would watch in a combination of amazement and relief as Edgar managed to make it down the stairs with little effort, seeing the faint glow from the lights at the bottom of the stairs slowly getting closer. And much to the amazement of Galiah, she would see him make it down to the bottom without the assistance of the elf
11 months ago cosmic_fusions said…
Yoon returned Galiah’s expression of confusion accompanied with a small frown. She didn’t need to know their relationship status to know that the elf cared for him a lot, even though it was clear as day. She continued down the stairs with Galiah; however, not as rushed since she too wanted to make sure she would slip in case she was still dripping water. And upon arriving to the bottom of the staircase, she leaned against the rail to observe Edgar walk almost perfectly without the need of help from the walls around him which was somewhat impressive. Yoon exhaled softly, mumbling to herself now that he successfully went downstairs and she completed her small promise to accompany them. “….o-okay..” She checked that off her small to-do list. She wasn’t the biggest fan of being a third wheel either considering the many times she had been before, and so she muttered something like a goodbye with a tiny smile before she would start to make her way back up the stairs.

Edgar stepped out into the sand with a lot less caution now that he was on a surface that couldn't immediately break him if he happened to fall. And in a way, not even that mattered. Or..did, but rather found it less important than he should have. But now that he was there....

Something that he so vaguely remembered, it led him to the middle of the room where small and impressively sturdy pillars of sand upheld the wide and spacious circle that had been cut out into a ring. Though he couldn't see where he was he now stood, but he felt that he had been there before specifically. Many times, in fact, but some time ago. He could feel it in places in his body that had been yearning to be used again. Muscle that twitched with the need to move. His hand subconsciously moved to his side where two of his ribs had been broken and never fully healed properly, remembering for some reason that Jackie hadn't been too happy about that at all. But Jackie wasn't there.

He let out a sigh, and he began to step up the sand with a few trips until he found his feet on the more solid surface as he stepped into the ring. But as he stood there, something felt...missing. He could feel it in the way that his left hand itches for a hold on something. It was an itch that he was familiar with, his hand grasping at the air at his side as it remembers the feeling of a Pappenheim rapier, one of the styles of the thin and sharp pointed blade that he favored for it potential in ambidexterity.

Galiah would turn to Yoon as she was already preparing to leave the group, not sure if she should try to convince her to stay or leave in case something were to happen down here. But soon her attention was brought back to Edgar as he would step out into the center of the sand. She wasn't sure what he was going to do, if he was brought here of his own volition or if it was by some greater force. All Galiah could do was remain silent and watch

"...g-geez... why was that m-more awkward than usual..." Yoon mumbled to herself while she wiped her clammy hands on her towel around her neck. Despite still being her enemy, the stairs she walked up on no longer made her sore like it once did. Once she arrived to the top, her small hands went to open the door, and it was only until she was on the other side did she exhale softly to collect herself before her mother would see her anxious for no reason.

Edgar took a deep breath before taking off his glasses and momentarily and sliding them into his pocket. He could very slightly see the lights from above, like a glint that was smaller than a hangnail that was burning in a dark fire. He let out a slow sigh, breath easing from between his lips.

Relax away your tensions,

Edgar's shoulders started to drop, and he stood straighter. He inhaled through her nostrils slowly, a small cramp coming from his side.

Ease your mind from your physical tensions.

From the body, to the soul, he reminded himself of the words of a guide that he couldn't exactly remember by much at all. But his body, it hadn't forgotten at all. The damage that had been done to it during his private sessions, and the tougher fortitude that the training had put into it. But he had to dig deeper. And unlike the others, who hadn't took the time to study nearly as much he had. Everything for them was based around physical means. Physical situations. It was only going to get them so far, and as he saw it, not very. That wasn't even half the battle.

When he exhaled, he could see small flickers at first. He inhaled again, and the flickers sparked into a more vivid color that lit up the darkness around him with an awareness unlike any normal sense could provide. And as he turned, he began to see the particles of mana that floated around the place.
"Amazing.." He said in a mumble. He had...never seem anything like it, not anywhere near such a degree while he had been practicing. But the feeling that game from deeply suppressed memories told him otherwise. It was like watching shining dust float throughout the room. And for the first time in the last week, his expression slightly shifted into one of awe. But it was when he could almost feel the warmth against his eyes did he turn to where Galiah was standing, and he could see a more defined version of what he saw of her aura body now, the deep orange and red tinged of her magic's nature.
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Galiah was silent, watching- no, feeling a hint of magical energy radiant from the artist like a signal in the dark. The way his expression would finally shift into a look of awe as he turned around, as if his eyes had landed on something above him, catching something wonderful just above. And as his eyes would turn to her, as if looking into the elves own soul. “Edgar?” Galiah asked, both in curiosity and concern, “Are you… alright, Dear Edgar?”
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar didn't say anything at first as she gazed upon her with a marveling gaze that was mostly watered down by the obvious reason, being his damaged eyes. But it was made a bit more clear as he would finally crack a small smile.

The painter indeed had seen something wonderful, just as Galiah had started to suspect. But that wonderful thing wasn't above. It wasn't within the particles of mana that floated around then that had brought him awe. It was the elf herself. And his smile grew, only a little bit more.

"Yeah...a little better."
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Galiah would see the smile come to his face, seeing that finally there was some comfort in the poor painter, but seeing his smile was enough to make the elf’s own heart flutter in joy and relief, seeing her lover smiling for the first time in what felt like an eternity, despite it only being a few days. Regardless the elf would smile as well, feeling her own lips curl in an uncontrollable joy as she would let off a light chuckle and remark, “That’s good. I hope that coming down here was… satisfactory, dear Edgar”
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar's smile faded a little. He didn't know if satisfaction was what he felt. His gaze fell to the sand briefly. He was quiet while in thought , but spoke again as his Sight would find Galiah again as he took in a breath. "There's...something I wanted to try while I was here," he said to her. "You don't have to stay down here with me, you know?"
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
Galiah would hear is suggestion, as if whatever it was that was going to happen was something she would prefer not to see. Maybe the performance was full or maybe, in her more cynical mind, it was something she wouldn’t be able to handle. If it was better for her to go. But at the request, Galiah would take a step further onto the sand, and then another until she was standing in front of Edgar, her arms wrapping around him slowly and resting her head against his chest. “I want to stay” she replied softly, the sound of his heartbeat against her ears. “I want to, as your protector and your lover, Edgar. I want to be there for you through it all, no matter what may come.”
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar Looked down at the shape of aura at had wrapped its arms around him. The elf's warm embrace was like standing outside on a chilly morning in a heated robe with almost the perfect temperature to him. His arms would be as the wrapped around her, and he held her close with one of his hands sliding into her hair as he listened to her. The sound of her commitment toward him in such troubling times was..pleasant.

And it was then that the painter realized that he wasn't just in love with Galiah, but terribly so. It was the kind that he hadn't felt since...her. And that terrified him inside. He had tried to avoid it on some many occasions, to tell himself that what he felt would pass before he would ever muster the courage to tell her, or that he wouldn't have the time to do so under less...unfortunate circumstances. But she was just..she was wonderful, in so many ways with all of her elvish oddities and intimate charm as a lover. The way that she cared.

All such amazing things, from a person he had come to feel deeply for. He didn't want to lose that. But he didn't want it endangered either. He didn't want his visions to possibly boil over like they had been doing, not in front of her. Not for his magic to possibly bear down onto her as well if it slipped. He had thought about it already a couple of times before. And if it ever got too bad, he would only hope that she was long gone from him.
His hold around her tightened a little at the thought. "..I love you. I really do..," he told her. "Thank you, Galiah. For being here."
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
"Edgar. My dear sweet human" Galiah spoke as her arms tightened around him when he would do the same to her, her eyes looking up to see his face as she spoke softly, "My love for you is greater than you could ever imagine. I wish to remain by your side always my dear human."
She would remain held against him, her head resting against his beating heart with a soft sigh before she would pull back, looking up at Edgar with a soft smile as she would remark, "Whatever may come, I will be here for you. Whatever happens with your magic will merely be a hiccup on your path to success. And I will be here through all your mishaps and all your mistakes to see you pick yourself up and try again. I know that you will succeed, Edgar. You're more than just a Keeper. You're a fighter. You're... stronger then you could imagine. And soon, you will make these visions yours to control. They will not control you"
Before he could ask, she would answer for him, "You're embrace is shaking a little. I can feel your love but your fear too."

"Or maybe you've mistaken it for the cold down here," Edgar said in an attempt of joking, but couldn't bring himself to fully commit to doing so, not even halfheartedly. He closed his eyes momentarily, and he thought about the possibilities of his visions. He wanted to believe in Galiah's words more than anything. But the more he thought about the more...specific ones, the more doubt was sown into him. He sighed as the image of her aura began to disappear until all he saw was a much smaller, pulsating glint that was like a heartbeat. "If we're going to have a fighting chance, then we need to start now."
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
“Yes of course” Galiah remarked softly as she would look up to Edgar, looking at the man standing above her with her arms ever so slightly tight around him, fearing that any day now he could be lost to her. Her arms tightened around him as she would lean up, delivering a soft kiss to his lips as she would stand on her tip toes, fearing for her lover more than ever at whatever May come and if they would even be ready
11 months ago afewseconds said…
Edgar wasn't as surprised as he would have usually been by the suddenness of the elf's soft lips against his own. In fact, he had seen it coming, and had leaned down some to meet her half way. He held her close, but his lips remained soft against hers. And as he would pull away, just a breath away from her lips, he spoke. "That said... there's something that I've been testing a little while before the tracking spell—"

ssswooooOooooOohsh

It felt like a cold, smothering gunk that made the air feel as if it gummed within their throats. The elf and the painter could feel it, something inside of them being smothered out ever so slightly within their magic sense. And whatever it was, it was right outside the manor. It felt dark, almost like the presence of the Droven, which Yoon would be familiar with. More so than the others, at least. It was dense, but not necessarily...evil. It was like that of the Droven's, but watered down, almost like Raven's aura had been when she was corrupted.

~

Up at the front door, there was a hard, monotonous knock that didn't change at all against the door with small pauses that were precisely two seconds apart.

. Knock. Knock. Knock.

The knock was unmistakable. One used only by one group of people. And in the case if the household, they were not good people.

Galiah would look to Edgar’s face with a faint stare as she would part her lips from his, finding some comfort in his affection. But that comfort was quickly and immediately snuffed out when she would feel a lingering presence within the manor, something just above them. It was different, suffocating, like black tar. And as Galiah would hear those knocks, she would look to Edgar and speak more sternly than ever. “Edgar. Wait here. Do not follow. Do not move from those basement. I will be right back”
Before any more words could be spoke, Galiah turned her gaze to the stairs and rushed up the with the speed of a stray lighting bolt, Hopping up from one step and skipping another as she would dart through the stairwell, making her way up to the entrance in half the time it was descending. She would use her shoulder to burst through the door, her hands already ignited with flame, the rings of fire wrapping around her wrists and hands like gauntlets. She wasn’t sure what it was, perhaps she was more high strung than normal. But she felt the dark presence and she was prepared to act as protector

[Minutes Earlier]
Clnk. The door to the black rental car was closed lightly, and Johnathan stood there with an observatory eye. He didn't know whether or not he was staring at the right place while standing at the large gate. It certainly appeared more like someone's extravagant vacation home rather than any hideout that he had ever seen or had the privilege of sleeping during his time in the Constables. If anything, it wasn't really his taste. It almost reminded him of George and his disgustingly entitled person. He almost smirked, thinking back to the man being shoved into a trunk, as if he and Kore were just up to the act a day or two ago. He had found himself becoming rather fond of the memory, despite the pinge of honest guilt about how things were handled. After all, he was still a professional and there were certainly preferences in the way he dealt with situations that required...extra.
His focus returned to the small mansion itself, and his thoughts traced back to when he had first started his way up the hill to the place. Everything had been fine until he was nearly halfway there. He found it difficult to explain, but it felt as if he had pushed through some sort of wall and into another world. It had thrown his senses off. And now that he was standing idly, he could notice how different the atmosphere was there. Like the air breathed. And there was still this distinct feeling that he couldn't shake.

Part of him was anticipating seeing Kyung-ha again sense the incident. Another part of him was still anxious, and that part made him scratch at his growing five o' clock shadow. A tendency that had come back from a buried childhood perhaps. Nonetheless, he pulled out his phone to contact Kyung-ha, and it wasn't until he had began to dial that he noticed something...odd. The glare on his phone seemed to be getting brighter and brighter, which at first annoyed him until—

BOOOOOOOSH—Th-thmp.

There was a flash of light in the sky, a brief flicker that was like lightning from the sun that beaned down towards the manor, something being hurdled down from it.

Johnathan was immediately on its trail.

----

"No way in hell—" Edgar grumbled to himself after Galiah had told him to stay where he was. Something within him just wouldn't let that happen. He couldn't. He stumbled across the sand after the elf, trying to focus his mana into his Sense of Sight , but was met with a foggy feeling that he could feel starting to drain him physically. He stopped at the bottom of the stairs for a moment, a drop of sweat falling down his brow until he told himself that he couldn't afford to hesitate. And so up the stairs he went.

Galiah would rush into the entry halls of the manner, her feet rushing quickly with the ferocity of a wild animal but her focus was that of a primal Hunter. If Galiah was anything at all, she was more than prepared for a fight. And as she would reach the doors of the manor, she stopped, her hands raised with her fingers pointing like a gun, a small flame flickering at the edge of her finger tip. She stood with her legs slightly parted, her other hand resting on her wrist of her pointed finger.
“Who is there” She would shout out “State your being here. If you are a friend, speak now. If you are a threat… say nothing. But take one step inside this manor without my orders and I will turn your body and soul to ash.”
She wasn’t sure what would emerge from the other side of the door. She wasn’t sure if there was anything at all, but she knew what she felt. A danger, a presence that was not like the others. And that was enough to make the elf suspicious, now more than ever

"I can assure you that if I were an enemy, I wouldn't have bothered to knock," Jonathan's voice replied from the other side of the door, not familiar with the person who spoke to him. But it was strange, for he could feel something hot on the other side of the door, like an ember. He knew that it was magic from his time around who had been his... circumstantial partner of choice. He looked down at the large package that was at his feet, a bit disturbed by what he saw. He spoke again. "Though I am no friend to whoever you may be, I am acquainted as an ally with who you may be familiar with as Kyung-ha Park. And I've come to notice a...rather strange package has arrived at the residence that you may want to bring your attention to," He said with a sort of mildly disturbed confusion in his voice.

“Lady Kyung-ha?” Galiah spoke with a bit of confusion and uncertainty, not sure if this was merely a ploy to get in l. She could feel that the one speaking was not Droven, but she was also certain the attack from a few days prior was not Droven either. She would keep her hand pointed as she spoke up, “A trick used by the last Constable that came within this manor.”
But despite that, she was certain that Kyung Ha was more than capable of defending herself. And if it was someone she would know, then perhaps she could ease the situation. With her hand still raised, she shouted through the halls of the manor, her voice echoing “Lady Kyung! Your Presence is required in the entry hall!!!”
Her attention returned to the door, her hand raised as she asked, “What is your purpose of being here? And how did you discover this manor? Speak now.”
11 months ago afewseconds said…
"If you're supposedly acquainted with Kyung-ha Park, then you should already be aware of how I discovered this location. My purpose here is none of your concern, nor am I required to give to you any information of so. I do not wish to speak to a house keeper about my current state of affairs here. I'm sure you understand...or perhaps not— I'm hoping that you do. It is indeed rather simplistic if I may say so myself." He sighed. "It's been a long day, so if you may locate your superior a bit sooner, then your assistance would be substantially appreciated."
11 months ago Windwakerguy430 said…
“H-Housekeeper?!” Galiah spoke in the utmost offense, and oddly enough, the flame at the tip of her finger only grew with her frustration, if only for brief moment before it would simmer down as she took in a breathe. To her, being labeled as a mere house keeper or a servant of any kind was seen as a great offense to her race, and it was something she was not fond of. She would take a moment to collect herself before speaking clearly, “I am no housekeeper, stranger. I am Galiah Yar’gaal, granddaughter of Yosseppi Yar’gaal and guardian to the Keepers. My mission, my very purpose, is to protect the Keepers and defend them with my life. So if I may make it clear, as their protector, your being here is my concern. We were attacked only four cycles ago and this fiend was also familiar with Lady Kyung-ha, as well acquainted with another of her ilk. Just knowing of Lady Kyung-ha is not enough but I shall let her decide if you are trustworthy”

Kyung-ha had carefully removed the mask from her face as she stood in front of her bathroom mirror, standing on the tips of her toes and leaning over the sink to get a closer look at herself. Beneath the mask was a bandage that covered her upper lip, and upon peeling it off after the previous four days of extensive care and treatment, she sighed of relief when it only looked like her lip had been scratched––easily being passable as a very small cold sore or perhaps an incident where she accidentally bit herself. It wasn’t noticeable at first glance. She dabbed some natural aloe vera over it, a natural remedy that seemed to be doing wonders in the healing process.

Lady Kyung! Your Presence is required in the entry hall!!!

She heard the elf’s high-pitched voice, which made her cringe. How is it that she not understand dishwasher yet? She said regarding the previous mechanisms the elf was still learning. Albeit she chose to just do dishes by hand most of the time. With a heavy sigh, she exited out her bathroom door and her room to see what the elf was on about.

Meanwhile, Yoon’s face was as pale as a ghost upon hearing the familiar voice at the door while she sheltered herself behind the walls of the hall. She had just returned from retrieving her phone to reunite with her brother in the kitchen. But the knocking of the door was enough to have her back against the barrier of drywall just around the corner where she remained hidden. It can’t be. But it also could be, considering how familiar her mana being smothered felt. It was even hard to detect his warmth that infiltrated her cold senses. For some odd reason, he felt warmer than before. Her chest rose and fell with heavy breaths, her eyes darting around as if looking where to escape. She didn’t think she would feel this way if she ever had the chance of seeing him again. It wasn’t supposed to feel like this, but the registered fear briefly took over. She was scared and guilty. Confused. Worried. Ashamed. She was looking to exit out the backdoor of the manor; however, she was frozen in her steps when she heard her mother approach––which encouraged her to take steps around the wall and avoid being confronted as she watched her mom head into the entry wall.

"Yes. A housekeeper," Johnathan repeated, not really noticing the take of offense in the woman's voice on the other side of the door. If anything, he sounded more annoyed that he had to repeat himself, especially as he stared into the open box that rested on the porch at the sleeping body. And as the woman began to speak again and named herself, he paid attention to the way she spoke with little interest aside from her surname. It didn't take much at all to deduce there was a probability that she wasn't human.

Unlike Leonard and the others, he hadn't exactly kept contact during the time that they had been separated, and for a couple of reasons. After he and Kore had their run in with the Constables and the Droven a while back, it hadn't exactly been easy to maintain a constant back and forth of communication, especially with his limited resources. And with the latter being...well, the latter, using her cellular device was off the table even before he discovered that Kyle had been tapping into their phones. Which led to him disposing of them, and "kindly" asking Hal for replacements that went untracked. And then there were the confrontations with the Constables, which had proven to had started to take it's toll in a way that had yet to be seen. In all, he didn't know much about the household other than the very few he knew personally.

Most of what the she said, he picked through thoroughly, only being distracted by the growling if his stomach. He hadn't eaten anything his entire trip in his attempt to continue as he always had, with a strict and rich diet on the strict schedule which had assisted in crafting his discipline as an agent. And as much as he tried to uphold it, he had come to find a deep disliking for it that he tried to keep in the back of his mind as he waited at the door with his hands clasped behind his back.

Galiah waited for a response that would sadly never come, only finding her cheeks lugging in frustration when he called her a Housekeepr once more. She was finding it more and more difficult to keep her composure but she knew it was best if she did. She would eventually throw the door open, finally coming face to face with the person at the door. Her hand remained raised in anger, her hand and the flame as well being aimed at Jonathan’s face, but there was no sign that she would attack. Not yet. She spoke, “I’ll ask one more, stranger. What is your title and your purpose here?”

"Elf, for the last time I no te––" Kyung-ha's pace now in the entry hall slowed upon seeing the silhouette of the figure outside the door, along with hearing the familiarity of a particular voice. She was stuck in place behind the elf in complete shock, enough to question herself if this was a dream. Her brows wiggled in confusion seeing the elf converse with someone––someone who she couldn't imagine standing behind the door given the circumstances of their situation. Her knitted expression softened in disbelief, but she was grounded to her feet. She was wary––very wary. Skeptical, even. The woman's hand had almost forgotten its instincts from being shocked to set itself on the waistband where her weapons hid. Was this perhaps another joke of Thube's? A reminder about her debt? A sign that Leonard had failed and so he took her son's skin? It couldn't be. She didn't want it to be.

She eyed him up and down from where she stood, her mouth unconsciously agape. She wasn't sure why, but he looked so much more like the little boy she found years ago in her mission in Korea. She took a few hesitant steps forward, her eyes never wavering from how wide they were in denial. But he was there. Kyung-ha had shoved the elf out of her way effortlessly by pushing her head aside like turning down the volume in a car when she was trying to concentrate. She opened the door a little further––speechless and hesitant to even reach out to him. But her motherly concern and love for the man in front of him prevailed, and before he knew it, no formal gestures were allowed because he would find his knees being forced to squat as his neck was dragged downward with her hand stroking the back of his hair to embrace him in a tight and warm hug.

As Galiah's finger would remained pointed at him, the man would be surprised at first. But he stared at it, and the more he did so, the more he began to see the infamous door within it, and the world that burned behind it. His eyes narrowed, and the elf would be able to notice the flame in the tip of her finger sizzle as if it were being doused with water as the elf would find her gaze stuck to eyes that reflected an abyss that seemed to grow until—

"Elf, for last time I no te—"

Johnathan wouldn't have to try to remember who's voice it was that he heard as he saw the woman appear up the hall behind the elf. And for a moment he...just didn't know what to say.

There stood not the man that had always kept a clean cut and shave. Not the person that had been actively serving as The Order's scalpel against the flesh of the under society, the syringe that injected death into the veins of all that was inhuman. It wasn't Abel that the woman who had been like a mother to him would encounter a she shoved the elf aside. The man was tired, but there was a look of sharp focus in his eyes akin to the teenager that had stood before here after his initial induction into the ranks of the Constables. Before the side effects of the past encountered with he Droven had really seeped into him.
And as she opened the door a little further, the expression of disbelief that he saw brought a sight that she hasn't seen since he was in childhood. Though small, a charming and rather handsome smile came across his face. It was out of an unforeseen nervous feeling, but also due to realizing the last time he had actually seen her had been Florida almost two years ago.

He had to remind himself that he has yet to even greet the woman before he found himself being pulled downwards into a hug that he hadn't been prepared for. He couldn't remember the last time he had been in an embrace that felt...real. Whatever it was that shocked him so, it didn't allow him to hug her back for the first few seconds. But when he did, he embraced her carefully but in full.

Galiah would pick herself up off the floor when she was shoved, only taken by surprise by the counter assault. The elf had prepared to speak her mind as she would jump to her feet, but when she would see the two embracing, she kept her own thoughts silent. She knew it was best not to bother them. And it was proof enough for her to see that he was trustworthy, at least to Kyung. It lacked the borderline hostility that Leo and Thube had. This felt real. This felt special. And so, the elf would prepare to leave, if not for the one thing coming to the forefront of her memory. The package. As the two embraced, Galiah would slide through the double doors with little to no issue and look down at the package, feeling a sense of forbiddingness from within as she would slowly lean down to pick it up

As Galiah would attempt to pick up the rather large box, she would come to find that it was much, much heavier than it looked. In fact, the heaviness of it was strange, as if the weight wasn't necessarily physical.

Johnathan had been to invested into the moment with Kyung-ha to notice that the point eared woman had gone to the box behind him. Or at least it would seem so, until he stepped away from Kyung-ha. He moved the elf out of the way with an forceful shove. "It isn't for you to go about freely placing your hands on" he stated coldly. "Please, refrain from doing so again."

Galiah would stumble back a bit as Johnathan was quick to push her back, but it did little to move the elf. She would only stop merely out of the distraction she now found herself with the agent as she would speak up, pointing at his chest with a bit of force. "Will you all cease with this act of pushing and shoving?! I am not a ragdoll to be tested on for close quarters combat!"
She would take in a deep breathe to calm her nerves before bringing up, "And was it not you who said that we should bring our attention to the box? If it is anything dangerous, best that I look into it. As a non Keeper, it is for the good of everyone that I make sure it is safe. The Keepers, Sir Mason and Lady Raven are in disposed at the moment, and I do not see it fit for Lady Yoon and Sir Edgar to look into something we have no knowledge of what it is."

Johnathan stared at the elf with an expression that told her that he could have cared much less about whatever it was that she was rambling about, once again going about picking through her words for anything he could actually deem as useful. He found nothing. "Correction. I believe I said it was a matter that I wished to bring to Kyung-ha Park. You, by no means, are Kyung-ha Park. I'd suggest leaving it at so. If there is a potential threat within this... truthfully, rather weird occurrence, then I, as well as Ms. Park, will take measures accordingly."

"Y-You most certainly did not!" Galiah spoke with a scoff of offense at the Kyung-ha being mentioned. She was almost certain that her ears did not lie to her. Almost. She would soon turn to the woman who was overjoyed to see him and spoke with a bit of a tone in her voice, "Lady Kyung-ha, with all due respect, who is this ruffian?"

"You misunderstand. I know precisely what I said. It seems that you can hear, but can't quite take a hint. You're assistance isn't required." Johnathan said straightforwardly. But as he was referred to something that he could only assume was some variety of insult, he only raised a brow. "If I only I had the slightest interest to ask the same if yourself. But do go on," he offered, merely amused by the elf if only barely so.

Kyung-ha took in his touch and smell to familiarize herself again with the man she hadn't seen in almost two years. And even when he stepped away to address Galiah, her embrace on him didn't go far. She was worried sick about his status and was on the verge of concluding he was dead. But here he was, proving her wrong. Her thumb and index finger pinched his cheeks right then and there much like she would do when he was a child, scooping him down to place a comforting kiss on his forehead. He was here. He was alive.

"He is my son." Kyung-ha finally spoke with a crack in her voice that went unnoticed. "And you will treat him as such." Her soft stare became a glare when she eyed the elf. It was almost like a warning for her to not try and start anything with him because she would ensure her head was on a pike in the outside gates. She went to see if there was any baggage she could help Johnathan with bring in; however, that is when she finally saw the box they were talking about outside in the porch. Her brows knitted into a tight furrow of confusion and wariness as she hovered over it with her hand on her waistband once more. The box looked big enough to look heavy, and she wasn't sure if it was something she should bring inside. But the more she peered into it, the more she could deduct that it was a...body? And it was sleeping?

Johnathan's attention fell onto Kyung-ha as she went to peer into the box, and unlike with the elf, he made no move to stop her whatsoever out of the simplicity of the fact that not only did he know the woman, but he also trusted her with his concerns much more than some housekeeper that could double as a lighter.

A soft but long snore cane from the box as Kyung-ha peered inside of it, and the body within slept curled into a ball with hits arms wrapped stout itself like a fetus. A head full of hair covering the entirety of the face. And as Kyung-ha peered closer, she would hear the faint sound of a steady and slow paced heartbeat that seemed to very slightly move in the same manner. The strangest part was that it would eerily remind her if a sleeping Yoon for some reason.

Johnathan's voice came from beside her as he peered into the box as well. "As ludicrous as this may sound, I witnessed it fall from the sky while I had been in the middle of notifying you of my arrival. It seems that Amazon as gone to peculiar lengths of shipping and handling," he said. And with as somber as he seemed, it would take a second to realize that, shockingly, he attempted to crack a joke. Which was odd because of the seriousness in his tone as he spoke.

Galiah would give an almost confused expression at how quick Kyung was to defend this man and quick to threaten her. But with how Leonard was much of the same unlike the other Keepers, she would assume it was just a Constable situation. Regardless with her presence no longer being required, she would turn without another word to the two ex agents and make her way back to the basement where Edgar was, or at least where she believed him to be
11 months ago afewseconds said…
While Galiah was heading back towards the basement, she would find herself actually running into him as he was he was coming around the corner of the hall between the stairs.
But as they collide, Edgar was able to grab on to her to prevent her from falling, as well as himself out of instinct. He put his glasses back on, and had to push the back up his face a little after the bump-in with Galiah. "Oh thank god—is... everything alright?" He asked hesitantly. Though it didn't seem as if they were being attacked at the moment, he was wary of the presence that had come to the manor.
